I've been feeling unaccountably fed up this week.

Actually, that's not quite true. I can account for a number of things that have contributed to my malaise. My Twitter pals will have noticed my journey from hell on Tuesday - three and a half hours to Brum (it took me over an hour to travel the first ten miles from my house), and then nearly three hours on the way back. In fact, I felt so tired on the way home that I had to stop at Tibshelf services to have a nap for fifteen minutes to summon enough energy to be safe to drive again.

On Monday the dvd drive in my old xbox finally gave up the ghost. I don't think it's worth repairing given that game are selling xboxen for £35 at the moment, but it's irritating that there are still a number of game saves on the disc that I'll have to abandon. Ah well, it looks like an xbox 360 might be on the cards at some point.

Last night was disturbed by wind whistling through the house again, and an unsettled dog who kept sneaking upstairs before being banished back into his basket again. When I did sleep, it was with strange, vivid dreams, that left me feeling very disconnected when I woke up.

I've been generally grumpy too, snapping at Jamie when he spilt orange juice over the worktop and onto the floor after I'd mopped it in the morning. Work has been vexatious too, with the usual slew of stupid questions, forgotten passwords and a sales manager who managed to lose nine hours of work on the price list database by working on it on a local drive rather than a networked drive where it would have been mirrored and restorable. Sigh.

Fortunately, kobudo tonight was excellent as usual. We've learnt half of the first sai kata, and very satisfying it is too. The yari-bo kata is starting to make more sense too as we develop the footwork to flow rather than lunge.

That's about it, I think, apart from the elephant in the room which I'm not going to talk about here. Time for a beer and 'My Name is Earl' I think.

One thought on the XBOX thing.

XBOX is Networkable to a PC, so another XBOX should be Networkable also, if its only the DVD Drive thats knackered, you SHOULD be able to get the Game Saves off of the HDD - I will have a play with mine and let you know - never tried, but I have Saturday free at the moment!

There seems to be a lot of down people at the moment, maybe you should think about coming along to the unofficial for day, it's an excuse for a picnic at the botanical gardens, and might give you something to look forward to.
