This may be of interest to any sabre owning, champagne drinking folk out there. Apparently the trick is to thoroughly chill the bottle first.

Actually, if you watch them both you see that the one who did it 'right' actually used the BLUNT side of the sabre. The one above who smashed the bottle used the sharp side. I wonder if that had something to do with it too.
