Sunrise, sunset

My morning walk this morning fell before the sunrise, even after the kerfuffle with putting the clocks back the other week. The sunrise was just an orange smear on the horizon, just about illuminating the frost on the grass. I scraped the ice from the car and set off for the motorway. The viaduct was shrouded in mist that thickened into a heavy fog past Chesterfield. Oh joy.

Work is well into crunch mode for the merging of the accounts structures in two weeks. This is going to be a humungous data manipulation  exercise with duplicated accounts being identified and updated, and all changes being rippled through into various sub systems. I sort of knew it was coming, but it’s all been dropped on us with minimal notice.

Home again, listening to ‘The God Delusion’ by Richard Dawkins. This is an excellent argument against the folly of all religious thinking and belief in gods without any sort of proof. I’ve just listened to the first couple of chapters so far and it is proving both funny and passionately argued.

My philosophical mood was complimented by the moon rising – an amazingly vivid orange, low on the horizon and wreathed in wisps of cloud.
