X Men Legends

We’d not touched this game for nearly a year, but Jamie dug it out this afternoon and stuck in the xbox. As I recall, we had got to a long stretch without a save point and had given up after getting killed $hilariouslylargemadeupnumber of times.

We started again with the classic team of Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm and Iceman, and with a bit of cautious play and better co-ordination we got through the tough bit to the boss battle with Toad. The trick is to use Wolverine as a point man to soak up damage which he can regenerate with his mutant healing powers whilst using a combination of Cyclops and Iceman’s ranged attacks and Storm’s area disruption to kill the bad guys.

The between mission bits at the X Mansion are good too, with lots of hidden bits to discover including an X Men trivia game which I scored lots of experience points on. I knew that my collection of Claremont era comics would come in handy at some point. There was also an excellent flashback mission to a Sentinel battle in New York with the classic team in their original spandex costumes.

This is an excellent game for co-op play and I think we are going to be persevering with this one a little longer.
