Firstly thanks to Kat for the Moominpapa icon, and to Jan for the wonderful KK Slider one that she made for me last night. I'm spoilt for choice now, and I'll have to alternate between them.
With my Papa hat on, Alicia is being very teenagery at the moment. Her room gets tidied up after much nagging and then overnight the messy fairies move in and it's worse than before. She is also infuriatingly bad at getting out of the house in the mornings and I end up having to bark orders at her like a drill instructor out of Full Metal Jacket - "Get your shoes on!" "Put that planner in your bag!" "Get in the car and don't even think about going back upstairs for your mp3 player!". Still, at least we've got two weeks off, and maybe she will get her act in gear next year.
The mega shop from Tesco arrived today, so we are well stocked up for the holidays. It's very handy having the garage to be able to stockpile big bags of petfood, loo rolls, tins of beans, bottles of pop and just one or two bottles of beer ... :-)
Work hasn't been too busy, with a lot of folk already in holiday mode. I've just got one more trip down to Dudley tomorrow to make sure we are still on top of things for the purchase ordering system. I'd better write some cds tonight to listen to on the way there and back. I've been using a useful little utility called 'Net Transport' that allows you to download a real audio file from the listen again bbc page, which I can then convert into mp3s or put on a cd. I've been snarfing the Sunday afternoon show from 6Music and some Doctor Who episodes from BBC7 - very handy.
